If you would like to go for a hike, just put your hiking boots on and start directly from our house and you will find yourself in the middle of the wilderness. Follow the river bench and discover the beautiful area of the Clearwater and the James River. Lots of small creeks are guidelines to untouched spots.
You will find some outfitters in the area that are providing guided trail rides. If you like to take the opportunity to learn how to ride a horse you can do this as well.
We have fenced pasture, so you can bring your horse while you stay in one of our comfortable suites. Certain conditions apply. Please ask for details.
The close by James River, lots of lakes and small creeks provide a whole variety of fish. One of the best kept secrets is the Burntstick Lake close to our property, where you can find all you need for a very relaxing or adventurous day or you build a sand castle with your kids on the beach.
The wilderness is only a few steps out of your room. The creek on our property is the home of a lot of different animals, like many birds, even hummingbirds, wolves, coyotes, deer, moose and elk. Especially during the winter time you are able to see moose right in our yard. Usually you cannot get closer to these shy animals.
If you like you can spend every day of your holidays on a different golf course. They are open to the public. Please ask for a special Golf Course map. The Sundre area provides 3 golf courses, all approx. 30 minutes away from our property.
One step out of your suite and you can go cross-country skiing on our property. We offer approx. 8 to 10 km of trails. The trails are not challenging but have no groomed tracks. Otherwise put your snow shoes on and go for a nice walk on our own trails or walk on the frozen creeks and rivers close to our place. A few minutes away you will find the Bearberry Nordic Centre, well known for its well-groomed x-country trails.
